What does this tool do?
The Time Unit Converter instantly translates any duration across eight units, from milliseconds up to years. Developers, students and anyone doing everyday math can see at a glance how many days 90,000 seconds is, or how many minutes there are in three weeks.
How to use it
- Enter your values into the fields.
- The result is calculated instantly.
- Read or copy the result.
How the units are defined
Every conversion is calculated through seconds: one minute is 60 seconds, one hour is 3,600, and one day is 86,400. A week is exactly seven days. For variable units a fixed convention is used: a month counts as 30 days and a year as 365 days. That means results for calendar months or leap years can drift a few hours from a real calendar, but for everyday estimates this approximation is more than accurate enough.
Copying the results
Type a value, pick the source unit, and the list below updates live with every equivalent. Your chosen unit stays highlighted so you never lose your reference point. Click any row to copy that value to the clipboard and paste it straight into code, a spreadsheet or a message. Results show up to six decimal places, giving you enough precision for short, sub-second durations as well.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a month treated as 30 days?
Because real months range from 28 to 31 days, the tool uses a fixed 30-day month as a practical average for quick estimates. For exact calendar math, work in days instead.
Can I convert very small values like milliseconds?
Yes. The smallest unit is milliseconds, and results display up to six decimal places, so you get accurate equivalents even when working with fractions of a second.
Are leap years accounted for?
No, a year is fixed at 365 days. For 366-day leap years the result can be off by about one day.
