How to use it
Give your event a name (e.g. My birthday) and choose the target date. The tool anchors today to midnight and computes the whole-day difference between the two dates. For a future date it shows how many days are left; for a past date it shows how many days ago it was, in large type. Below the count, the same span is also given in approximate weeks, months, and years so you can grasp the interval in different units.

The tool automatically shows how many days have passed since that date. The number stays positive and the label switches to 'days ago' instead of 'days left'.
Does the calculation account for time zones?
It works in whole days: today is fixed to midnight (00:00) and the day difference to the target date is taken, so time-of-day and small offsets do not affect the result.
Why are the week, month, and year values decimals?
They are approximations using an average of 30.44 days per month and 365.25 days per year, so you may see fractional figures like 1.5 months rather than whole numbers.
